Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery 'Summit', British Columbia
Readers rated this wine:
Maturity, balanced, smooth.
Born of the best barrels from vineyards in the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys; Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Malbec were aged separately in French oak barrel for 13 months before blending into the Summit. The blend was then aged an additional 11 months for a total of two years.
It shows some maturity; fleshy plum aromas are rounded out with sweet cherry, cedar chips, baking spices and vanilla, pipe tobacco and earth. It's a balanced red with notable freshness and a firm but smooth palate. Expect a structured red with forest berry, brown spice, grilled plums, tealeaf and mocha flavours.
Pairs great with Gone Crackers Canadian Chedder & Chive
